DONATE
ATTIC TREASURES
Before taking your turnouts to the curb for
bulk pick up, think about the attic treasures while doing your Spring
cleaning. We need silver, brass, bric-a-brac, dishes, glassware, linens,
jewelry, working appliances, sports equipment (but please no books). Children’s
items will be sold in a different area; games, toys, children’s
books, dolls, ride-on toys, furniture. Drop off is Friday, June 2nd, afternoon
and evening, and Saturday, June 3rd, 9am to 11am. If you’d rather
not wait until then, we can make alternative arrangements.
HELP HULL STRAWBERRIES
Please join us on Friday evening, June 2nd to
hull the strawberries. This party is always a fun time. All ages welcome.
BAKE
SHORTCAKE
A key ingredient for our strawberry shortcake.
Would you bake us a pan or two? This is a very quick and easy recipe:
Heat oven to 425. Mix together: 2 ½ cups Bisquick, ½ cup
milk, 3 Tbsp. sugar, 3 Tbsp. melted butter. Spread mixture in ungreased
8”x8” pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
HELP SET UP
Join the set-up and take-down crew. Set up
to take place Friday evening, June 2nd, around 6:00pm, and then again
Saturday morning at around 7:00am. Take-down happens at 4:01pm on Saturday,
June 3rd. No experience necessary!
CREATE LIVING
ART
The face painting staff would love to have
people who have steady, artistic hands for decorating the faces of New
Castle’s community. Sign up for a shift or two, and make your mark!
SODA CANS NEEDED
Please save your empty soda cans (rinsed out)
for the popular “Alien Can Smash” game. A container will be
in the Parish Hall
BAKE
SALE
The bake sale revenues are always good (even
on rainy days!) but they could be better. Please help us build our inventory.
Listed below are just a few ideas for items that you can bake for the
Strawberry festival. Feel like creating? Here is your chance. Our customers
can’t resist a masterpiece that they most likely wouldn’t
bake at home. Bake goodies now and freeze them until the festival.
Drop off for baked goods will be Friday, June 2nd, afternoon and evening. Please label your goods (e.g. “Oatmeal raisin”)
and identify any nuts that are in the goodies. Please bring them to the
Parish Hall where we will be wrapping and pricing. (If dropping of on
Friday is impossible, Saturday morning between 9am and 11am will be fine.)
We can always use extra hands to wrap and
price items on Friday, June 2nd and to sell on the day of the Festival. If you haven’t signed up for a shift, please don’t
let that deter you! Just come on down - we never turn away help!
